Born Jan. 29, 1927, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late George Preston and Annie Pearl Hefner Lail. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Isenhour; four sisters, Georgie Lail, Helen Hedrick, Zettie Dellinger and Mattie Eckard; and a son-in-law, Robert Swaim. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Brenda Lail Swaim of Newton, and Sandra Lail Hensley and husband, James C., and Lisa Isenhour Phillips and husband, James D., of Conover; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert J. Isenhour and wife, Patty, of Conover; two sisters, Frances Drum of Maiden and Estelle Maffie of Union Grove; three brothers, Gaither Lail of Claremont, Bill Lail of Denver and Bob Lail of Vale; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Joy Baptist Church in Conover. Pastor Tim Shook will officiate. Burial will follow in Conover City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ronnie Holmes, Randy Holmes, Michael Hensley, Robbie Swaim, Robert Isenhour Jr. and Preston Isenhour. The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Joy Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6000 Fairview Road, Suite 200, Charlotte, N.C. 28210.
