Bonnie SPENCER was born on 10 November 1928 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 6 June 2012 at the age of 83 in Brian Center East, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: Bonnie Spencer Clark, 83, of Hickory, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Brian Center Health and Rehab in Hickory. Born November 10, 1928 in Hickory, she was the daughter of the late Adam Enoch Spencer and Florence Jones Spencer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John W. Spencer and Adam E. Spencer, Jr. Mrs. Clark is survived by her daughter, Linda Bess Andrew and husband Danny of TN; granddaughter, Jacqueline Andrew of FL; siblings, David Spencer, Larry Spencer (Roberta), Nellidean Sisson, Cora Lee Mace and Betty Jolly. Linda will be forever grateful to the wonderful staff of Brian Center for the loving care given to her mother and to her deceased Uncle John Spencer for his endless loving devotion to his sister during her long confinement. Bonnie is once again with her loving brother, Johnny, where they both live pain free with the Lord. Private services will be held.

John Wesley SPENCER was born on 30 July 1944 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 28 February 2012 at the age of 67 in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was buried in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Hickory, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER John Wesley Spencer, 67, of Conover, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. Born July 30, 1944 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Adam Enoch Spencer and Florence Jones Spencer. He was one of the founding members of the St. Stephens Athletic Department, a member of Sandy Ridge Wesleyan Church, and a former owner of Better Built Furniture Co. John loved his children and grandchildren as well as all sports, especially golf. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Adam E. Spencer, Jr. John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kay Caldwell Spencer of the home; sons, Dwayne (Chunky) Spencer and his wife, Crystal of Hickory and Doyle Spencer and his wife, Candes of Hickory; grandchildren, Jason Spencer, Jonathan Spencer, Justin Spencer, Dillion Spencer, Erika Spencer and Delayna Spencer; brothers, David Thomas Spencer of Hickory, Larry Spencer and his wife, Roberta of Rapid City, S.D.; sisters, Bonnie Clark of Hickory, Cora Lee Mace of Newton, Betty Jolly of Taylorsville, and Nellidean Sisson of Lincolnton; and sister-in-law, Josephine Spencer of Hickory. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at Sandy Ridge Wesleyan Church with Pastor Scott Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, March 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sandy Ridge Wesleyan Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Cancer Society , 6000 Fairview Rd., Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28210 or Sandy Ridge Wesleyan Church, 2330 16th Street NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
