3245. Essie Maude BOST was born on 25 June 1913 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 20 March 2008 at the age of 94 in Newton, Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in St. Paul's Memorial Park, Newton, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: NEWTON - Love held Essie Maude Bost Foster of Newton as she passed away at home Thursday, March 20, 2008. Born June 25, 1913, to the late James Wellington Bost and Essie Mae Cline Bost of Newton, she was 94 years old. Essie Maude was recently preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Troy Maness Foster. She is survived by four children, Joanne Foster Abernethy and her husband, Glenn, of Newton, Chuck Foster and his wife, Ann, of Fort Mill, S.C., Joy Foster Bruce of Charlotte and Jerry Foster and his wife, Patty, of Franklin, Tenn. Seven grandchildren survive her, Glenda Abernethy Cordray and her husband, Shep, of Horse Shoe, Jason Bruce and his wife, Nikki, of Raleigh, Ashley Bruce of Raleigh, Jennifer Foster and Hannah Foster of Franklin, Tenn., and Sarah Foster and Jim Foster of Fort Mill, S.C., as well as one great-grandson, Luke Cordray. She also is survived by her sister, Alta Mae Bost Danner and husband, Ronald, of Newton and by loving and dedicated caregiver, Eileen Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by his sisters, Sarah Short Ward, Hermine Bright, Rosalie Ashe, Mary Knox Wike Lentz, Stella Stockley, Violet Rebecca Bost and Aileen Bost, and brother, James Bost. Always a devoted wife and mother, Essie Maude retired as a food service employee at Startown Elementary School. Throughout her entire life, she was a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church in Newton. A service of remembrance will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2008, at St. Paul's Reformed Church in Newton. The Rev. Dr. Stephen Disher will officiate, with interment to follow in St. Paul Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight, Saturday. The family suggests memorials be made to Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, N.C. 28658 and to St. Paul's Reformed Church Building Fund, 3562 Startown Road, Newton, N.C. 28658.
