Naomi BENFIELD was born on 24 August 1928. She died on 10 June 2008 at the age of 79 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. She was buried in Conover City Cemetery, Conover, Catawba, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER - Naomi Benfield Lail, 79, of Conover, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley.Born Aug. 24, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joe B. Benfield and Della Pennix Benfield.She was a member of Fairgrove Baptist Church in Hickory.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Paul Lail; daughter, Trudy Paulette Lail; two sisters; and three brothers.She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Townsend and her husband, Roger, of Conover; three grandchildren, Tiffany Gregory and her husband, Rickey, of Connelly Springs, Channon Townsend and his wife, Leigh, of Claremont and Heather Townsend of Conover; four great-grandchildren, Shawna Townsend, Shane Townsend, Chelsea Townsend and Channa Townsend; and special friends, Tommy Tyson of Conover, Evelyn Parsons of Hickory and Carolyn Lefevers of Hickory.A Service of Remembrance will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2008, at Fairgrove Baptist Church, 3521 Highland Ave., NE, of Hickory, with the Revs. Joe Dillard and Bobby Langston officiating.Burial will follow in Conover City Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight, Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton.Memorials may be made to Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, N.C. 28658.The Lail family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Conover.
