4266	i.	Virginia COBB was born on 21 February 1933 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 18 December 2012 at the age of 79 in Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. She was buried in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY Virginia Cobb Hicks, 79, of Hickory, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Frye Regional Medical Center. Virginia was born Feb. 21, 1933, to Rufus Jacob Cobb and Mae Spencer Cobb. She is survived by her husband, Charles Hicks; four children, Melody Hicks Kearns and husband, Marcus, of Greensboro, Douglas Charles Hicks and wife, Carol of Sherrills Ford, Tamsen Hicks Murray and husband, Kevin, of Greensboro, and Gordon Cobb Hicks and wife, Penny, of Hickory; six grandchildren, Benjamin Kearns and wife, Brittany, of Raleigh, Alisha Kearns, of Raleigh, Ezekiel Kearns, of Greensboro, Collyn and Manon Murray, of Greensboro, and Charlie Hicks, of Sherrills Ford and a sister, Jane Cobb Lail and husband, George; and two nieces, of Hickory. She and her husband, Charles, were founders of Charles Hix Photography, in 1959, where she worked until 1995. The funeral service will be held Thursday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Don Ingle officiating. Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The receiving for family and friends will be held, prior to the service, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O.
