He is survived by his wife, Violet Spencer of the home; two sons, Troy Spencer and wife, Suzanna, of Conover and Sterling Spencer and wife, Melinda, of Hickory; three daughters, Diane Rice of the home, Sue Ramey of Hickory and Elizabeth Drum and husband, Chris, of Hickory; four stepchildren, Greg Marks of Florida, and Brian Marks and wife, Lori, Pamela Martin and Michael Marks and wife, Teresa, all of Ohio; three sisters, Gail Hicks of Hickory, Mary Simpson of Connelly Springs and Pat Spencer of Hickory; 25 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
