Rebecca KEEVER was born on 14 June 1933 in Alexander County, North Carolina. He died on 13 June 2009 at the age of 75 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He was buried in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Rebecca Keever Benfield, 75, of Hickory, received the greatest blessing possible by going home to spend her birthday with her Lord and her loving husband, Gray, on Saturday, June 13, 2009. Born June 14, 1933, in Alexander County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Beatrice Mays Keever. Mrs. Benfield was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gray Grayson Benfield; sister, Virginia K. Dyson; and brother, William Keever. Survivors include daughters, Carolyn B. Teague of Hickory and Alice B. Lail and husband, Steve, of Conover; son, Rex G. Benfield of Hickory; grandchildren, Christle Teague and Karen Bridges, Tonya and Jason Osland, Diedra and Mark Harvey, Caroline Lail, Randal Lail and Rex G. and Carla Benfield II; great-grandchildren, Brooke Burns, Mackenzie and Dakota Osland, Ethan Buff and Mason Harvey, Bryson Wellman, Orie Sams and Jansessa. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 16, at 2 p.m. in Catawba Memorial Park, with the Rev. Homer Greene and Dr. David Treadway officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Catawba Funerals & Cremations, from 1 to 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, N.C. 28658.
