Beulah Mae LAIL was born on 8 November 1919 in Catawba County, North Carolina.1831 She died on 14 December 2010 at the age of 91 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER - Beulah Lail Killian, 91, of Conover, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. She was born Nov. 8, 1919, in Catawba County to the late Henry George Lail and Lula Sipe Lail. Mrs. Killian retired from the glove industry and was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and a member of the XYZ Club of the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Roy Elcanie Killian; sister, Eva Lail Propst; brother, Troy Lail; and daughter-in-law, Ann A. Killian. Mrs. Killian is survived by her sons, Steve Killian and wife, Linda, and Leroy Killian, all of Conover; grandchildren, Samantha K. Bowman and husband, Cary, Annette K. Medlin and husband, Eddie, Bryant L. Killian and wife, Tammy; great-grandchildren, Tabitha Duckett, Michael Duckett, Austin Medlin, Bryant Killian Jr., Brylee Killian, Jessica Pless and husband, Dustin, Jennifer Bowman, Reanne Walton, and Matthew Walton; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Vernon Eugene Lail and Paul Luther Lail, both of Conover; and sisters, Sadie Lail Arndt and Eunice Lail Wray, both of Conover. A service of remembrance will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Scott Bollinger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Mt. Beulah Mae LAIL and Roy Elkanah (Elcanie) KILLIAN were married on 17 August 1940.1817 Roy Elkanah (Elcanie) KILLIAN1818, son of Perry Alphonso "Fonso" KILLIAN and Anna A. "Annie" COULTER, was born on 25 April 1922 in Catawba County, North Carolina.1817 He died on 30 August 2005 at the age of 83 in Brian Center, Viewmont, Catawba County, North Carolina. He was buried in Mount Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Conover, North Carolina. ROY E. KILLIAN
HICKORY - Roy Elcanie Killian, 83, of Crabapple Street, Conover, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at Brian Center-Viewmont after a period of declining health.
Born April 25, 1922, in Catawba County, he was a son of the late Perry Fonze and Annie Coulter Killian.
A member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, he retired from Hickory Chair Co. and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah Lail Killian of the home; two sons, Leroy Killian and Steven Killian and wife, Linda, of Conover; two granddaughters, Samantha Bowman and husband, Cary, of Lofton, Va., and Annette Medlin and husband, Eddie, of Catawba; a grandson, Bryant Killian and fiancee, Tammy Walton, of Lenoir; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted by Dr. David M. Seymour and the Revs. Harold Drum and Kris Hill at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Zion Lutheran Church.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the church from 7 to 8:30 tonight.
