5188. Troy Lee LAIL was born on 18 March 1935 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 10 June 2011 at the age of 76 in Lutheran Home West, Hickory, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: TAYLORSVILLE Troy Lee Lail, 76, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Lutheran Home-West after a period of declining health. Troy was born March 18, 1935, in Catawba County to the late Floyd and Sarah Killian Lail. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Hand Lail, and two sisters, Lois Louise Lail, Ruby Jean Canipe and a brother, Gary Wayne Lail. He was a member of Fellowship Advent Christian Church, Apple City Street Rodders and was co-owner of Bethlehem Muffler. Surviving are a daughter, Carla L. Kerley, and her husband, Ricky, of Hiddenite; a granddaughter, Brittany K. Styers, and her husband, Chad, of Statesville; a great-granddaughter, Morgan Paige Styers, of Statesville; his sisters, Martha Huffman and her husband, Michael, of Hickory, and Annie Lail and her husband, Ellis, of Conover; his sister-in-laws, Irene Lail, of Hickory; Gail Hand of Taylorsville; his sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Bill Jones; his brother and sistersin-law, Carl and Mayrene Hand, of Taylorsville, Linda and Gene Rogers, of Taylorsville, and Lonnie and Jean Hand, of Taylorsville. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 13, at Fellowship Advent Christian Church with the Reverend Dave Ross officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 12, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be the Apple City Street Rodders and honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Ray Fox.
