He was buried in Claremont City Cemetery, Claremont, NC (St. Marks & Calvary Luth.). His obituary appeared as follows: NEWTON Wade Mitchell "Mickey" Lineberger, 73, of Newton, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at his residence. Born Dec. 19, 1938, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Wade "Dub" and Evelyn Bost Lineberger. Mickey was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an active member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, in Claremont. He was a former employee of Heflin Furniture, Life of Virginia, Farm Bureau, and Allstate. He was a past Master of Conover Lodge #709. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Linberger; and son Bradley Wade Line-berger. He is survived by an aunt; two uncles; two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held Friday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, in Claremont, with the Rev. Wes Frye officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military and Masonic Rites by Con-over Lodge. Family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St., Oxford, NC 27565. Wade Mitchell "Mickey" LINEBERGER and Geneva HEFNER were married on 24 June 1961. Geneva HEFNER, daughter of Carl Ervin HEFNER and Tressie Irene SIGMON, was born on 10 November 1940 in Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 18 May 2010 at the age of 69 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. She was buried in Claremont City Cemetery, Claremont, NC (St. Marks & Calvary Luth.). Her obituary appeared as follows: Geneva Hefner Lineberger, 69, of Newton, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley after a courageous battle with leukemia. Mrs. Lineberger was born November 10, 1940 in Hickory, NC, a daughter of the late Ervin and Tressie Hefner. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Claremont. Geneva was employed for many years as a bookkeeper. Geneva and her husband, Wade enjoyed traveling. They took frequent trips to the Pennsylvania Poconos and Ohio Amish country, as well as two driving trips across America, and several trips to Europe and Asia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bradley Lineberger; brothers, Melvin Hefner and CE Hefner; and a sister, Aileen Jones. Mrs. Lineberger is survived by her husband, Wade (Mickey) Lineberger; sister, Janette Whitener; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with the Rev. Wesley Frye officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
