Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY Millie Jean Hollar, of Conover, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Sunday, June 26, 2011. Born on Jan. 16, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Howard R. Hollar and Arevia Warren Hollar. She was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod in Hickory. Miss Hollar is survived by one sister, Luanne C. Lambert and her husband, George, of Hickory; three brothers, Kenneth L. Hollar and his wife, Faye, of Salisbury; Richard W. Hollar and his wife, Susan, of Charleston, S.C.; Lonnie G. Hollar and his wife, Kay, of Hickory; six nieces and nephews, Robin Lane and Scott, Hope Rudisill and Dana, Charity Hollar, Lee Sims and Talisa, Gary Hollar and Lisa, Angela Cook and her husband; and a number of great nieces, nephews and a friend, Candace Miller. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod with Pastor David Guelzow officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, July 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bass-Smith Funeral Home in Hickory. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
