Donald Pinkney KILLIAN was born on 20 May 1930 in Catawba County, North Carolina.2076 He died on 15 March 2012 at the age of 81 in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY Donald Pinkney Killian, 81, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 15, 2012, at WFU Baptist Hospital. Donald was born May 30, 1930, in Catawba County, to the late Guy and Cleo Hefner Killian. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Jeannie Killian Turpin. Donald was a beloved husband and father and was a charter member of Our Saviour Lutheran. He retired from Sealed Air Corp as a supervisor and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the Army. Surviving are his wife, Janice Gantt Killian of the home; his daughter, Amy Killian Todd and husband, Robert. of Milton, W.Va.; and his son, Donald P. Killian, Jr. and wife, Julie, of Conover; his granddaughters, Ashley Morgan and her husband, Bradley, of Granite Falls and Dharma Killian of Conover; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Turpin of Big Island, Va. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday March 20, at Our Saviour Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert J. Stevens officiating.
