Richard Dale HERMAN, son of Osbern "Jack" C. HERMAN and Londa M. HEFNER, was born on 6 March 1935 in Catawba County, North Carolina.^1742,2674 He died on 26 February 2011 at the age of 75 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER Richard Dale Herman, 75, of Claremont, died Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born on March 6, 1935 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Osborne Herman and Londa Hefner Herman. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Claremont. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Holler Herman; sons, Richard Dale Herman, Jr. and his wife, Monica and Wesley Scott Herman, all of Claremont; grandchildren, Timothy Ryan Herman and Crystal Herman; great-grandchild, Jaden Lain; sister, Helen Cochrane and her husband, Gene of Newton; brother, Dewey Herman and his wife, Helen of Claremont; and many nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with the Reverend Gary Haddock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends today, February 28, 2011 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Drum Funeral Home in Conover.
