2758. David Walter TUTTLE was born on 9 July 1930 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 18 October 2008 at the age of 78 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER - David Walter Tuttle, 78, of Conover, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Mr. Tuttle was born July 9, 1930, in Catawba County, a son of the late Eugene P. Tuttle and Ruth Bolch Tuttle. A member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, he earned a degree in textile engineering from N.C. State University. Mr. Tuttle served in the U.S. Army 2nd Division in Korea, and upon his return from Korea, served briefly in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division. He was also a member of the U.S. Naval ROTC. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Cline Tuttle; son, Michael Tuttle and wife, Joan, of Zebulon; sisters, Lucille Meyer of Virginia Beach, Va., Rachel Wise of Summerton, S.C., and Eugenia Allen of Lincolnton; and eight nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, N.C. 28658.
