3655. Nellie HUFFMAN was born on 8 May 1922 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 20 November 2008 at the age of 86 in Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care, Granite Falls, Caldwell County, NC. She was buried in St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hickory, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: Nellie Huffman Lutz, 86, of Wilson Street, Lenoir, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. She was born May 8, 1922, in Catawba County to the late Jefferson and Lottie Kaylor Huffman. Mrs. Lutz was a homemaker and member of Mt. Herman United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James (Bill) Lutz; two sons, William Lee Lutz and James Collins Lutz Jr.; one daughter, Carolyn Jean Lutz; one brother, Harvey Huffman; and two sisters, Louise Huffman and Frankie Pruitt. Survivors include two sons, Allen Lutz and wife, Dena, of Blowing Rock and Eddie J. Lutz and wife, Carolyn, of Lenoir; five sisters, Mrs. Virginia Anderson, Mrs. Mary Bolch and Mrs. Lois Isenhower, all of Hickory, Mrs. Shirley Fisher of Salisbury and Mrs. Betty Owens of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Edna Lutz of Lenoir and Mrs. Mary Huffman of Hickory; and two grandchildren, Joe Lutz and wife, Sharon, of Granite Falls and Sean Antone of Blowing Rock. The funeral service will be held today, Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Revs. Chuck Marbry and Marcus Ollis. Interment will follow in St. Stephens Lutheran Church Cemetery in Catawba County. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Nellie HUFFMAN and James Collins "Bill" LUTZ , Sr. were married in 1941. James Collins "Bill" LUTZ , Sr., son of James Edward LUTZ and Martha Diane WATSON, was born on 14 November 1915. He died on 2 August 1990 at the age of 74 in Lenoir, Caldwell County, North Carolina.

He served in the military (North Carolina CPL Co D 46 Inf 198 Lt Inf BDE Vietnam BSM-PH). William was buried in St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hickory, NC.
