Sibyl HUDSON, daughter of Macon R. HUDSON and Ruth BOLICK, was born on 14 September 1922.1084 She died on 10 November 1983 at the age of 61 in Catawba County, North Carolina and was buried in May's Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.1084

Augusta Elouise "“Pete”" HOKE, daughter of Charles Fred HOKE and Maude Jamia/Jamima SHOOK, was born on 10 February 1923 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 15 July 2004 at the age of 81 in Abernethy Laurels, Newton, North Carolina. She was buried in Claremont City Cemetery, Claremont, NC (St. Marks & Calvary Luth.). Her obituary appeared as follows: CLAREMONT - Elouise “Pete” Lowrance Setzer, 82, of Abernethy Laurels, formerly of Claremont and Maiden, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Abernethy Laurels in Newton. Born Feb. 10, 1922, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Fred and Maude Shook Hoke. She was a lifelong member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Claremont and retired from the Dairy Hall in Conover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Jones Lowrance, who died in 1961, and a sister, Virginia Dare Hoke. Survivors include her devoted husband of 18 years, George Andrew Setzer of Maiden; a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Allan Lowrance and wife, Kathy, of Claremont; three grandchildren, Jason A. Lowrance, Karen Henry and husband, Carl, of Claremont and Julie Bowman and husband, Ryan, of Conover; two great-grandchildren, Bryson and Zoie Henry of Claremont; a sister, Maureen Hoke Moose of Valdese; two nieces, Lucinda Watson of Huntsville, Texas, and Janet West of Greenville, S.C.; a stepdaughter, the Rev. Vickie Curry of West Virginia; a stepson, Ricky Setzer of Newton; and three stepgrandchildren, Carol, Lowell and Kelly. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 4 p.m. today, Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Claremont. The Rev. Dr. Charles Dickson will officiate and burial will follow in the St. Mark’s/Mount Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. today, Saturday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Pallbearers serving the family are Jeff Hedrick, Donald Isenhour, Doug Miller, Nathan Morrow, Dennis Null and Keith Simmons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 579, Claremont, N.C. 28610.
