2922. Ruth Colleen HERMAN was born on 7 April 1929 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 30 March 2010 at the age of 80 in Carillon Assisted Living Center, Conover, NC. She was buried in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Hickory, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: Ruth Colleen Bowman, 80, of Conover, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Carillon Assisted Living in Newton where she was a resident for the past 4 years. Born April 7, 1929 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Vallie Killian and Perry L. Herman. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hickory. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Kenneth Carl Bowman, a son; Kenneth Wayne Bowman, two brothers; Harold E. Herman and Kenneth Herman. Survivors include two sisters; Betty Propst, Ann Bowman and husband Bill, two sister-in- laws; Wilma Herman and Mary Herman, four grandchildren; Lisa Bowman, Teree Hull, Eric Bowman, Kenneth Brian Bowman, great grandchildren; Tara Hull, Ashley Monchamp, Brandon Monchamp, Ava Bowman, Toby Bowman, great-great grandchildren; Austin Pickard, Joshua and Samuel Monchamp. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 2, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Savior Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the church and at other times the family will be at the residence of Bill and Ann Bowman. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton N.C. 28658 or to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2160 35th Ave. Dr. N.E., Hickory, N.C. 28601.
