Nora Lee SIMMONS, daughter of Craig Roscoe SIMMONS and Ila Ruth BUMGARNER, was born on 26 March 1927 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 14 May 2010 at the age of 83 in Brian Center, Viewmont, Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Conover, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: Hickory - Nora Lee Simmons Lail, 83, passed away May 14th, 2010 at Brian Center Viewmont. Nora was born March 26th, 1927 in Catawba County to the late Craig Roscoe and Ila Bumgarner Simmons and was married to the late Arthur McRee Lail. She was also preceded in death by six sons, one brother, and one great-grandson. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. Surviving are her daughters, Vicki Houston and husband Roger of Conover, Debra Bacca and husband David of Hickory, granddaughter, Amanda Cook and husband Stevie of Conover, two great-grandsons, David Cook and Justin Cook of Conover, two sisters, Ruth Cook and husband Larry of Hildebran and Kay Lafone and husband Tony of Hickory. The family will receive friends on Monday May 17th from 1:45 PM until 2:45 PM at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Funeral services will be held on Monday May 17th at 3:00 PM with the Reverend David Seymour and Reverend Scott Bollinger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
