Darrell S. "Pete" BOLICK was born on 19 June 1948 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 7 December 2010 at the age of 62 in Brian Center East, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. He was buried in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Mr. Darrell "Pete" S. Bolick, 62, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at the Brian Center, East. He was born June 19, 1948, in Catawba County, the son of Robert and Clara Lowman Bolick. He was a member of Winkler's Grove Baptist Church and the former owner of DNT Trucking Inc. in Hickory. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan, loved Carolina basketball and enjoyed to be out on Lake Hickory. Pete had a good sense of humor, but his unique character made him a friend to many. Survivors include his children, Scott Bolick and wife, Denise, of Douglasville, Ga., Cory Bolick and his wife, Sheri Bolick, of Dallas, Ga., Gary Bolick and his wife, Jennifer, of Bethlehem, Chad Bolick of Hickory, Scotti Mays and her husband, Kyle, of Taylorsville and Bobby Bolick of Hudson; a sister, Ann Bolick of Conover; a brother, Troy Yount of Newton; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held Sunday, Dec.. 12, 2010, at Catawba Funerals and Cremations at 4 p.m., with Bishop Ray Pate officiating. Burial will be private.
