4792. Violet Suphronia HEDRICK was born on 12 May 1920 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 23 January 2011 at the age of 90 in Brian Center East, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Conover, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Violet Suphrona Hedrick Ramsey, 90, of Hickory, died on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at Brian Center East after a period of declining health. She was born on May 12, 1920, in Catawba County, to the late Phillip E. and Lennie V. Eckerd Hedrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hillard Ramsey; a great grandson; two sisters, Pearl Price and Lois Sigmon; and two brothers, Clyde and Garll Ramsey. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and retired from the textile industry . Surviving are a son, Edward M. Ramsey, and his wife, Verda, of Conover; two granddaughters, Jennifer Cansler and her husband, Mike, of Hickory, June Durham, of Stony Point; one grandson, Brad Ramsey, of Elm City; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Faye McRee, and her husband, John, of Alabama. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at 4 p.m. at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery with the Rev. Hugh Stetler officiating.
