Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Martha Cline Yount, 79, of Hickory, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at her residence. Born July 10, 1929, in Catawba County, she was the second daughter of Ausborn Vernon and Ada Beard Cline. She attended Hickory City Schools and graduated from Hickory High School in 1947. She had a career in banking with Wachovia Bank, First National Bank of Catawba County and First Union National Bank, from which she retired in 1984. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Hickory. She was married July 14, 1957, to Gordon A. Yount. They have two sons, James F. Yount and wife, Vicki McConnell Yount, of Newton and William B. Yount of Hickory, and one grandson, Jason McConnell Yount. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Hickory, with the Rev. Dr. William Leathers, the Revs. Dan Martin, Amy Freeze and Pat Pearce officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, one hour prior to the service, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
