Roy Lee GOBLE was born on 8 December 1943 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 20 October 2012 at the age of 68 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He was buried in Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery, Claremont, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: Roy Lee Goble, 68, of Conover passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born December 8, 1943 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late James Henry “Legs” and Nina Mae Eades Goble. Roy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a lifelong member at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Claremont. He enjoyed playing baseball, carp fishing, watching football, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a previous employee at Carolina Mills. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Jennie Cook Goble of the home; daughters Stephanie Cook Pollock and husband Jimmy of Lincolnton and Rachel Pearl Goble of the home; five brothers Carl “Bud” Goble, Bobby Goble, Dale Goble, Jerry Goble, and Mike Goble; six sisters Janice “Sis” Flynn, Shelby Mathis, Gail Travis, Linda Hahn, Debbie Ferguson, and Teresa Bowers; grandchildren Emily Marie and Jacob Van Pollock; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other special relatives. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Drum Funeral Home. Rev. Marsha Joyner and Rev. Jesse D. Hamlett will officiate and burial will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00-3:45p.m. on Tuesday at Drum Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Drum Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses at P.O. Box 395, Conover, NC, 28613. The family would also like to thank Catawba Regional Hospice on Robinson Road for all their tender care in this difficult time.
