Faye Willadean LAIL, daughter of Ernest Odell [Lael] LAIL and Willie Irene ECKARD, was born on 7 December 1934 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 16 November 2012 at the age of 77 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. She was buried in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Conover, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: Faye Willadean Lail, 78, passed away peacefully and walked into the Lord's hands Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Catawba Regional Hospice. She was born Dec. 7, 1934, in Catawba County, to the late Ernest Odell Lael and Willie Irene Eckard Lael. Aside from her parents, she will soon see in heaven a daughter, Vicki Lail Misenheimer; a sister, Patsy Lou Lael; and a baby brother, Dennis Odell Lael. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Carl Edward Lail; two sons, Stephen Douglas Lail and wife, Alice and Tim Anthony Lail and wife, Brenda. She is also survived by a daughter, Penny Roxanne Lail; sister, Kathy Lail Abbott and husband, Scott Abbott Sr.; brother-in-law, Junior Arlie Lail; sisters-in-law, Ruby Hedrick and husband, Richard, Joanne Bolick and husband, Houston, Myrtle Lail and Marge Sigmon, who was her phone buddy for many years. Faye leaves behind eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mom was a devoted Christian, even after she couldn't go to Church anymore. She was a beautiful person with a beautiful heart and touched those she knew. She loved flowers, gardening and yard sales, and even though she had to stay in the car, she loved to get out and ride along. Faye was the best cook in the world. Memorials may be made to the Angels at Catawba County Regional Hospice at 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658. They did an outstanding job beyond their duties to make sure my mother passed away with dignity and peace. God Bless all of you. A service of Remembrance will be held at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church on County Home Road in Conover, Monday, Nov. 19, with the Rev. Scott Bollinger officiating. The receiving will be from 12 to 1:45 p.m., at the Church Fellowship Hall and the funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the church.
