Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY Libby Jane Cloer Baker, 73, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at her residence. Libby was born July 9, 1939, in Catawba County to the late Thomas Glen and Ruth Elizabeth Burns Cloer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Wayne Baker. She was a graduate of Hickory High School and retired from Twin City Knitting after 30 years of service. Surviving are her sons, Arnold D. Baker, of the home, and Michael Wayne Baker and wife, Susan R., of Conover; daughter, Laura Ann Baker Smith, of Newton; granddaughters, Stephanie and Sarah Otto, of Connelly Springs; and grandsons, Charles Michael Baker, of Conover, and Jesse Dalton Smith, of Newton. Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, at 2 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clyde Hedrick officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today (Wednesday, Sept. 19) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home. Condolences may be made online at hickory fh.com.
