Her obituary appeared as follows:2670 HICKORY - Phyllis Ann Wagner, 65, of Hickory, was called home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born April 27, 1940, in Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late Wilmer and Ernestine Watts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Princess Walker, Mary Watson, Clara Johnson and Wilma Harbinson; and two brothers, Billy Watts and Wesley Watts. Survivors include her husband, Jack McDonald Wagner of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Kim Wagner of Hickory; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Greg Caldwell and Jackie and Chris Fowler of Hickory; four grandchildren, Avery and Malia Wagner and Brittany and Christopher Caldwell of Hickory; a brother, William Watts of Granite Falls; a sister, Jewell Liton of Statesville; and several nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be from Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, Senior Adults Sunday school class.
