Jay S. Cline
BROAD CREEK -- Jay Setzer Cline, 69, of Broad Creek, formerly of Catawba
County, died Saturday morning at his home.
He was the son of the late John A. Clineand Bonnie Setzer Cline.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Broad Creek United


Methodist Church with the Rev. David Banks officiating.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 16 in Newton and past
commanderof the American Legion in Henderson, member of Henderson Lodge


229 AF&AM, past president of Eastern Carolina Traffic Club and was a
member of the TrinityLutheran Church in Sanford.
He is survived by his wife Joan Bignon Cline; son and daughter-in-law,
John Jay Cline and Kim Horst Cline of Hickory; sister,Maxine Cline
Rhinehardt of Newton; and grandchildren, Katie, John Jay Jr. and Kevin
Cline, all of Hickory.
The family suggests memorials be made to theMasonic and Eastern Star
Fund, c/o Henderson Lodge 229 AF&AM, Henderson, NC 27536.

Jay Setzer CLINE and Betty Joan BIGNON were married estimated 1952. Betty Joan BIGNON1560, daughter of Horace Doubet BIGNON and Myrtle BURNETTE, was born on 1 July 1932 in Cruso, North Carolina. She died on 12 January 2005 at the age of 72 in Newton, Catawba County, North Carolina. BETTY B. CLINE

NEWTON - Betty Joan Bignon Cline, 72, of Abernethy Laurels, formerly of Carteret County and Conover, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005.
Born July 1, 1932, in Cruso, she was the daughter of the late Horace Doubet and Myrtle Burnette Bignon.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Newton and was active with the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Setzer Cline.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John J. and Kim Cline of Conover; three grandchildren, Katie Cline, John Cline Jr. and Kevin Cline; and a sister-in-law, Maxine Cline Reinhardt of Newton.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at Spirit Place at Abernethy Laurels. The Revs. Larry Bolick and Cynthia Williams will officiate.
A private committal service will be held at a later date in Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery in Newton.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
