Her obituary appeared as follows: NEWTON Peggy Drucilla Cline, 81, of Newton died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at her home in Newton. Born Dec. 27, 1929 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Ted and Maude Keener Flowers. Peggy was a member of Palm Tree United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Franklin Bass Cline, and a brother-in-law, Noah McGee. Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Moose and husband, Jack, of Maiden; sisters, Jeanette McGee of Conover, Sybil Bost and husband, Bill, of Conover, Betty Barnard of Newton, and Nancy Smith and husband, Dalford, of Conover; grandchildren, Trina Lyn Long of Maiden, Richard Franklin Long and fianc‚e, Teresa Warren, of Newton, and Jason Allen Moose and wife, Debbie, of Maiden; and a great-grandchild, Amber Marie Williams. Pallbearers will be: Randy Isaac, Thomas Bass, Joseph Bass, Dean McGee, Marvin Wilfong, and Bobby Isaac. A service of remembrance will be held at Palm Tree United Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at 4 p.m. The Rev. Stephen Porter and Rev. Nathan Yoder will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the church from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m., prior to the funeral. He died on 19 April 1997 at the age of 69 in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. Franklin was buried in Palm Tree Methodist Church Cemetery , Vale, North Carolina.
