Lena Lucille ROWE was born on 4 October 1915 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 12 May 2010 at the age of 94 in Lutheran Home East, Hickory, North Carolina. She was buried in Conover City Cemetery, Conover, Catawba, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: Lena Lucille Rowe Moore, 94, of Conover, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Lutheran Home-East in Hickory. She was born October 4, 1915 in Catawba County to the late Herbert Guy Rowe and Rosa Lee Yount Rowe. Mrs. Moore was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and worked in textiles, retiring at an early age. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George William Moore, Sr.; brothers, Herbert Glenn Rowe, Fred Lee Rowe, Edward Rowe and Neil Rowe; and sisters, Lois Hoke, Mildred Caldwell and Mae Elizabeth Rowe. Mrs. Moore is survived by her son, George William Moore, Jr., of Hickory; her brother, Clinton Rowe and wife June, of Baltimore, MD; sisters-in-law, Joan Rowe and Josephine Rowe, both of Conover, and Floray Rowe of Newton; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved Boston Terrier, Hugo. A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Conover City Cemetery with Rev. A. Mark Schudde officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Home-East, 1265 21st Street NE, Hickory, NC 28601. The Moore family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Conover, NC.
