She died on 6 January 2010 at the age of 84 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Margaret Frances Herman Yoder, 84, of Hickory, went to be with her Lord on Jan. 6, 2010. Margaret was born April 11, 1925, in Catawba County to the late Samuel F. and Myrtle Lafone Herman. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Otto Yoder; three brothers; and one sister. Margaret was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years and retired from Shuford Mills. Margaret was a member of the Mountain View Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society of the Lutheran Home East, where she was active in many activities. Survivors include a son, Frankie Yoder and wife, Pat, of Hickory; four daughters, Susie Walker and husband, David, of Hickory, Mary Clark and husband, Danny, of Hickory, Frances Smith of Hickory and Betty Price and husband, Alton, of Hickory; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carmen Whitener of Hickory, Ruth Lawter of Conover and Joyce Bumgarner of Bowling Green, Ky.; and a brother, Paul Herman of Hickory. The family will receive friends Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, from 1 to 3:45 p.m. at Mountain Grove Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, in Mountain Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Craig Richardson officiating. WEAVER, was born on 27 December 1917 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 25 February 2005 at the age of 87 in Lutheran Home West, Hickory, North Carolina. He was buried in Mountain Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Catawba County, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Olen Otto Yoder, 87, of Moss Farm Road, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at Lutheran Home-Hickory West after a period of declining health. Born Dec. 27, 1917, in Catawba County, he was a son of the late Hill Franklin and Minnie Weaver Yoder. A member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church, he retired from Shuford Mills and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Herman Yoder of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank Yoder and Patricia of Hickory; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Susie Walker and David L. Walker Jr., Mary Clark and Danny, Frances Smith, and Betty Ann Price and Alton, all of Hickory; grandchildren, Tracy and Neil Yoder, Lisa W. Gentry, Brian Walker, Shane and Jason Clark, Adam, Terry and Eric Smith, and Heather T. and Ashley Price; and eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted by Dr. Gordon Benton and the Rev. Jay Reep at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by members of American Legion Post 48.
