60. Miles C. Monroe HERMAN was born in 1828 in Lincoln (Catawba County), North Carolina. His record in the War Between the States is as follows:202 HERMAN, MILES MONROE, Private, Company A, 18th Regiment, NC Troops - Resided in Catawba County where he enlisted at age 34, August 14, 1862, for the war. Present or accounted for until he was reported missing at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 3, 1863. No further records. He died on 3 July 1863 at the age of 35 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania during the Civil War. He was buried in Conover City Cemetery, Conover, Catawba, North Carolina.

Miles C. Monroe HERMAN and Camilla Eleanore L. CLONINGER were married on 17 August 1854 in Catawba County, North Carolina. Married by Eli E. Deal, J.P., first cousin of Miles. Camilla Eleanore L. CLONINGER, daughter of Thomas CLONINGER and Sarah Malinda LITTLE, was born on 24 September 1837 in Lincoln (Catawba County), North Carolina.52,203,204,205,206,207 She died on 16 May 1919 at the age of 81 in Catawba County, North Carolina.206 She was buried in Conover City Cemetery, Conover, Catawba, North Carolina.
