Harriet Kathryn CASH was born on 28 July 1917 in Chesnee, Spartanburg, SC. She died on 18 May 2009 at the age of 91 in Lutheran Home East, Hickory, North Carolina. She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Harriet Kathryn Cash Kaylor, 91, died at the Lutheran Home-Hickory, May 18, 2009. Born July 28, 1917 in Chesnee, SC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Melchi and Inette Ezell Cash. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and a former member of Highland United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, worked with youth, and was active in the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clarence L. Kaylor; daughter, Luanne K. Hayes; son-in-laws, James Hays and David R. Sigmon; sisters, Estelle C. Thorne, Viola C. Wilson, Elloree C. Ramsey; brothers, Herman Cash, Paul Belton Cash, Hydrick Cash, Glenn Cash and Harold Cash. Survivors include daughter, Jane K. Sigmon of Hickory; son, Michael R. Kaylor and wife, Jennifer of Huntsville, AL; a brother, Arthur M Cash of Chesnee, SC; grandchildren, Deidra S. Foster and husband Paul of Craig, AK; Drew Sigmon and wife Jennifer of Asheville; Morgan Kaylor and Jacqueline Kaylor of Huntsville, AL; Ansley Wilder and wife Amanda of Dayton, TN; Stewart MacLeod and wife Kathleen of Northport, NY; great-grandchildren, Hank Foster, Nolan Foster, Gehrig Foster, Calvin Foster all of Craig, AK; Addy Sigmon, Tate Sigmon of Asheville; Brianna Wilder of Dayton, TN; Katelynn MacLeod, Rebecca MacLeod, Brian MacLeod, all of Northport, NY; sister-in-laws, Pauline Mitchell and Olive Kaylor of Hickory, Barbara Kaylor of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Warren Woods of Charlotte; nephews and many caring friends. Kathryn battled Alzheimer’s for several years. The disease robbed her of many things, but never her strong Christian faith. She loved spending time with family and friends. Her faith, love, courage, wit and wisdom are her legacy to her family. She will be greatly missed. The family expresses sincere gratitude to the caring staff of Trinity Terrace at the Lutheran Home, Hickory. The memorial service will be held at Highland Baptist Church, Hickory, NC on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Jesse Lott officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
