Rev. Wade A. Davis YOUNT and Nora Charline DEAL were married on 20 May 1936.¹²²⁴ Nora Charline DEAL, daughter of Charles Baxter "Charlie" DEAL and Jennie HUFFMAN, was born on 21 July 1910 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 5 September 2007 at the age of 97 in Shaire Nursing Center, Lenoir, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Mrs. Nora Deal Yount, 97, formerly of Second Street Court, NE, Hickory, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at Shaire Nursing Facility in Lenoir. Born July 21, 1910, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Baxter and Jennie Robena Hoffman Deal. She graduated from Newton High School in 1928 and Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1932. She taught high school English and Latin in Catawba and surrounding counties until her retirement in 1968. After retiring, her main interests were quilting, painting and preparing adult Sunday school lessons, which she taught until age 95. She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Conover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, the Rev. Wade Davis Yount; three sisters, Irma Lail, Verna Hollar and Josephine Fox; and two brothers, Sinclair Deal and William Deal. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Johanna and Jerry Baldwin of Lenoir; sons and a daughter-in-law, Max Yount of Beloit, Wis., and Kenneth and Madeline Yount of Enville, Tenn.; a sister, Edythe Bogle of Conover; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 115 Workman St., Conover, with the Rev. Roger Beaver officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, P.O.
