5895. Brenda Eve ANTHONY was born on 17 November 1942 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. She died on 24 February 2009 at the age of 66 in Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Eve Anthony Pitts, 66, of Lincolnton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born Nov. 17, 1942, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late David and Vena Isenhour Anthony Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Fulmer (Yank) Pitts. Mrs. Pitts retired from elementary education, having taught at Mountain View, Oakwood and Hildebran elementary schools. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Elise Pitts Lewis and husband, Joe, of Lincolnton; brother, David Anthony of Clemmons; sister, Paula Anthony of Black Mountain; half brother, John Weaver of Newberry, S.C.; half sisters, Cere Helton of Roswell, Ga., and Joyce B. Brown of Hickory; grandsons, Michael (Joey) Lewis, Jamie Lee Lewis, Zachary Ross Lewis, Cameron Seth Lewis and Dylon Chase Lewis; and two great-grandchildren, Michael Lee Lewis and Hannah Cheyenne Lewis. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at Grace Lutheran Church, with the Revs. Dr. Larry Yoder and Gene Bruce officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church, 4536 Hickory-Lincolnton Hwy., Newton, N.C. 28658.
