He died on 11 February 2003 at the age of 67 in Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. Grealon “Curley” Campbell, 67, of 1275 Ole Country Court, Claremont, NC, died Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born January 29, 1936 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Cleveland and Ollie Shirlen Campbell. He was a truck driver for Morrisette Paper Company. He served in the Army and Marines during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, J. C. Campbell. Survivors include: Wife: Gail Moore Campbell of the home Sons: Keith Campbell of Morganton Brian Campbell of Newton Daughters: Kimberly Linebarger of Tucson, Arizona Leslie Campbell of Tucson, Arizona Sister: Rachel Corpening of Newton 3 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2003 at the Drum Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Mike Hatton and Lloyd King will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2003 at Drum Funeral Home in Conover. At other times the family will be at the home of Rachel Corpening, 228 W. 20th Street, Newton, NC. Memorials may be made to Salvation Army Homeless Shelter, PO Box 67, Hickory NC 28603.
