Kenneth McDonald SIGMON was born on 27 September 1928 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 21 July 2010 at the age of 81 in Lincoln Nursing Center, Lincolnton, North Carolina. He was buried in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: CONNELLY SPRINGS - Kenneth McDonald Sigmon, 81, of Connelly Springs, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Lincoln Nursing Center in Lincolnton. Born Sept. 27, 1928, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Ralph and Maude Hefner Sigmon. He was a member of Oakridge Baptist Church in Connelly Springs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Berry Sigmon; two sisters, Retta Clark and Bonnie Poovey; and two brothers, Paul Sigmon and Ralph Sigmon Jr. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory, with the Rev. Darrell Webb officiating. Ralph Henry SIGMON Jr was born on 25 May 1931 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 20 May 2008 at the age of 76 in Valdese General Hospital, Rutherford College, Burke County, NC. He was buried in Mount Harmony Methodist Church Cemetery, Icard, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: ICARD - Mr. Ralph H. Sigmon Jr., 76, of Icard, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Valdese Hospital after a period of declining health. Mr. Sigmon was born May 25, 1931, in Catawba County to the late Ralph and Maude Elizabeth Hefner Sigmon. He was an active member of Dry Ponds Baptist Church and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Ralph retired as a tool grinder from Forest City Tool Company. Surviving are his wife, Jeannette Miller Sigmon of the home; two sons, Scott M. Sigmon and wife, Christina, of Claremont and Shannon D. Sigmon of the home; a daughter, Robin Dawn Good and husband, Billy, of Hickory; and a brother, Kenneth M. Sigmon of Morganton. Also surviving are six grandchildren. The funeral service for Ralph H. Sigmon will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at Dry Ponds Baptist Church, with the Revs. Rick Crouse, Simeron Hamby and Neal Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Military Rites by American Legion Post 234 of Valdese.
