Clida Mae RABY was born on 3 January 1915 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died after a period of declining health on 30 July 2005 at the age of 90 in Lutheran Home East, Hickory, North Carolina. She was buried in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: RABY, Clida Mae HICKORY - Clida Mae Raby Fincannon, 90, of B Avenue, SE, Hickory, died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Lutheran Home-East after a period of declining health. Born Jan. 3, 1915, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of Calvin Monroe and Hattie Lou Hefner Raby. A member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, she was employed with Rhynes Hosiery Mill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Douglas Fincannon, in 1988; three sisters, Lillie Propst, Winnie Hollar and Carrie Russell; and two brothers, Claude Raby and L.M. “Mack” Raby. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Heavner of Newton; two grandsons and their wives, Doug and Pamela Bentley of Claremont and Johnny and Renee Bentley of Granite Falls; a granddaughter and her husband, Kimmie and Henry Hull of Maiden; eight grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Willard Mueller at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Monday at the church.
