Clyde Shuford HUFFMAN and Audrey Hope OWENS were married on 28 September 1946.⁴⁹⁶ Audrey Hope OWENS was born on 12 February 1927 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 27 January 2010 at the age of 82 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: Audrey Owens Huffman, 82, of Newton, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Mrs. Huffman was born February 12, 1927 in Catawba County, a daughter of the late Steve B. Owens and Hester Barber Owens Barnes. She was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Huffman was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Shuford Huffman, and her son, Earl Stephen Huffman. Mrs. Huffman is survived by her sisters, Sue Barnes Huffman and husband James of Connelly Springs, and Marjorie Jackson and husband Tom of Greensboro; brother, James Barnes and wife Jean of Hildebrand; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hickory. Rev. Randall Cauble will officiate.
