Johnsie Nell CONNOR, daughter of Robert Fulton CONNOR and Catherine Leola DEAL, was born on 18 July 1919 in Catawba County, North Carolina.⁶³³ She died on 11 February 2002 at the age of 82 in Abernethy Laurels, Newton, North Carolina. She was buried in Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery, Claremont, North Carolina. J Her obituary appeared as follows: Johnsie Nell Connor Setzer, 82, of the Abernethy Center, formerly of 3737 Bethany Church Road, Claremont, NC died Monday, February 11, 2002 at the Abernethy Center. Born July 18, 1919 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Fulton and Katie Leola Deal Connor. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, a former Sunday School Superintendent, a former church secretary and a member of the choir. She was also a member of the Claremont Garden Club. She was retired from the textile industry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ray Setzer; three brothers, Ralph Connor, Coyte Connor and Dewey Connor; and a sister, Katherine Spencer. Survivors include: two daughters: Mrs. David (Denelda) Reese of Claremont, NC Mrs. Frank (Katrina) Stewart of Catawba, NC four sisters: Martha Lindler of Conover, NC Janet Hester of Conover, NC Annie Pearl Connor of Newton, NC Irma Lee Cale of Lanham, MD 4 grandchildren 5 great grandchildren The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, February 14, 2002 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Larry Melton and Rev. Ralph Lepley will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Pallbearers will be: Todd Munday, Joshua Munday, Brian Brown, Dennis Lindler, Ronald Lindler, and Ron Spencer. Honorary pallbearers will be: Donald Simmons, Johnny Simmons, Wayne Connor, Melvin Connor and Garrett Reese. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 13, 2002 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Drum Funeral Home in Claremont.
