Martha JOHNS was born on 22 May 1923. She died on 5 February 2003 at the age of 79. She was buried in Carters Ford Baptist Church Cemetery, Lodge, SC. Her obituary appeared as follows: Martha Johns Holland Hawn, 79, of 609 Second Ave NE, Conover, NC died February 5, 2003 at Lutheran Home of Hickory. Born May 22, 1923 in Lodge, SC, she was the daughter of the late Pledger Mouzon and Rosa Lea Jones Johns. She was a graduate of Anderson Junior College. She was a longtime member of Concordia Lutheran Church where she was active in the Dorcus Society. She was in the choir. She also served on the Mission in Ministry Board. She had retired from the Newton-Conover City School System and was the former bookkeeper with Carolina Glove in Conover. She was a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels and was active with the Right to Life Pregnancy Center in Hickory. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Millard Brady Holland, and second husband Carroll Lee Hawn, Jr.; two sisters, Rosine Bishop and Ruby Carter; two brothers Mike Johns and Jasper Johns; and a step grandchild Ashley Kay Hawn. Survivors include: Sons & Daughters-in-law: John and Patty Holland of Newton Chuck Holland of Conover. Stepsons & Daughters-in-law: Marcus and Myra Hawn of Laurinburg, NC Phillip and Robin Hawn of Conover. Sister: Hattie Johns of Ehrhardt, SC. Brothers: Pete Johns of California Robert Johns of Emporia, VA Gene Johns of Belmont, NC P. M. Johns of Lodge, SC. Grandchildren: Craig Allen Holland, Randall Brady Holland Christa Nichole Holland, Tiffani Jordan Holland Brandy Lea Holland. Step Grandchildren: Carrie Jean Hawn, Wilson Lee Hawn. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2003 at Concordia Lutheran Church. The Revs. Donald Oldenburg and John Greig will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted at the Johns family plot at Carter's Ford Baptist Church in Lodge, SC on Saturday, February 8 at 11:00 a.m. with the Revs. Robert and Gene Johns officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at Drum Funeral Home & Cremations in Conover. Marcus Lee HAWN was born on 22 March 1957 in Conover, Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 21 November 2012 at the age of 55 in Laurinburg, Scotland County, NC. He was buried in Hillside Memorial Park, Laurinburg, NC. His obituary appeared as follows: Marcus “Mark” Lee Hawn, of Laurinburg passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the age of 55. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park. Rev. Michael Edds will officiate the service. Marcus was born in Conover, North Carolina on March 22, 1957, loving son of the late Carroll and Carrie Miller Hawn. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He had a distinguished career as an engineer with over 23 years of service with L.O.F. / Pilkington Glass. He faithfully attended the East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a member of The Gideons International. Mark was an avid reader, he enjoyed fishing, sport shooting, and watching NASCAR Racing. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his niece, Ashley Hawn. Mark is survived by his wife of 17 years, Myra Wilson Hawn and his son, Wilson Lee Hawn of their home in Laurinburg; a brother, Phillip Wayne Hawn and wife Robin of Conover; special sister-in-law, Elaine Wilson of Rockingham and a niece, Carrie Hawn Wright and husband Corey. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church, 302 Sanford Road, Laurinburg, NC. The family request that memorial donations be made to the East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church or Gideons International.
