Ruth Estelle BOLICK was born on 24 November 1919 in Caldwell County, North Carolina. She died on 2 February 2008 at the age of 88 in Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. She was buried in Friendship Lutheran Church Cemetery, Taylorsville, Alexander County, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: TAYLORSVILLE - Ruth Estelle Bolick Price, 88, of Church Road, Taylorsville, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Frye Regional Medical Center. She was born in Caldwell County on Nov. 24, 1919, daughter of the late Walter and Hattie Hall Bolick. She retired from Chaircraft Furniture and was a member of Friendship Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, sewing, fishing and most of all, sharing quality time with family and friends. Ruth and her husband owned and operated Price's Grocery in the Friendship community for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Price; brothers, Paul and Hugh Bolick; a sister, Esther Helton; a grandson, Tony Lee Huffman; and a son-in-law, Larry Sweat. Survivors include five daughters, Lorraine Hefner and husband, Phil, Gail Huffman and husband, Earl, Polly Watts and husband, Jimmy, Mabel Sweat and Rachel Miller and husband, Roger, all of Taylorsville; brothers, J.R. Bolick and Clarence Bolick, both of Taylorsville; sisters, Arlee Helton, Mary Mae Teague, Inez Bowman and Margaret Bowman, all of Taylorsville; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Friendship Lutheran Church. The Revs. Todd Rauscher and Phil Thorsen will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, Monday, at Friendship Lutheran Church, and at other times will assemble at 48 Third Ave., SE, the home of Polly and Jimmy Watts.
