2780. Margaret Lucille DAVIS was born on 13 January 1924 in Caldwell County, North Carolina. She died on 6 July 2011 at the age of 87 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: NEWTON Margaret Lucille Davis Cannon, 87, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton. Born Jan. 13, 1924, in Caldwell County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lucille Propst Davis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Cannon; a daughter, Gail Cannon, and two sisters, Betty and Erma Jean Davis; as well as two brothers, Floyd Lawrence and John Davis, and a son-in-law, Terry Bolick. She is survived by five daughters, Juanita Bo-lick, of Newton; Sherry Moretz, of Taylorsville; Barbara Lutz and her husband, Noah, Jr., of Maiden; Bettie J. Davis, of Maiden; Dawn Hamilton, of Maiden; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grand-children. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9, at 2 p.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton with Pastor Mark Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Newton. The family will receive friends Saturday, prior to the service, from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
