3142. Frankie Kathleen HUNSUCKER was born on 7 January 1922 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 18 September 2008 at the age of 86 in Abernethy Laurels, Newton, North Carolina. She was buried in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Frankie Hunsucker Bowman, 86, of Hickory, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at Abernethy Laurels in Newton. Mrs. Bowman was born Jan. 7, 1922, in Catawba County, a daughter of the late Jonas F. Hunsucker and Verdia Simmons Hunsucker. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elwyn D. Bowman; sisters, Alvena Deal, Freda Reagan and Edith Gantt; and a brother, J.T. Hunsucker. Mrs. Bowman is survived by her daughters, Terra Bowman West and husband, John J. West Jr., of Conover and Jeanie Bowman Westbrook and husband, Mark Westbrook, of Hickory; grandchildren, Kelsey West, Zane Westbrook and Grant Westbrook; sister, Ernestine Reid of Hickory; sister-in-law, Willadene Bowman of Conover; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Conover, with the Revs. Thomas Hamilton, Peggy Stout and Lonny McSherley officiating. Interment will follow in Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The family will receive friends from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, at the church.
