Ruby Nell LOWRANCE was born on 14 May 1922 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 20 September 2008 at the age of 86 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: CLAREMONT - Ruby Nell Smyre Hambright, 86, of Claremont, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born May 14, 1922, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Ora Smyre Lowrance. She was a lifelong member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Claremont. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Earl Hambright. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Jack Ledford of Claremont; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Peggy Hambright of High Point and Brian and Elaine Hambright of Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren, Scott Hambright, Matthew Hambright, Ryan Hambright, Jessica Hambright, Kristin Hambright, Danny Ledford, Curtis Ledford and Jeffery Ledford; and eight great-grandchildren. A Service of Remembrance will be conducted at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Claremont on Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Walter Hitchcock will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions to Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, N.C. 28658. The Hambright family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremations in Conover.
