4471. Charles Setzer PIERCY⁹⁵² was born on 3 February 1922 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 8 January 2004 at the age of 81 in Lincoln Medical Center, Lincolnton, North Carolina. He was buried in Maiden City Cemetery, Maiden, Catawba County, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: MAIDEN - Charles Setzer Piercy, 81, of 508 W. Main St., Maiden, died Jan. 8, 2004, at Lincoln Medical Center. Born Feb. 3, 1922, in Catawba County, he was a son of the late Charles Grier Piercy and Bertha SETZER Piercy. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he retired from the finish and repair department after more than 35 years with Broyhill Furniture Co. in Conover. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Hilton Piercy. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Stephen Piercy and wife, Brenda, of Lincolnton, and John David Piercy and wife, Vickie, of Claremont; three daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia Piercy Quintero and husband, Rick, of Silver Springs, Md., and Denise Piercy Campbell and husband, Jimmy, and Debbie Piercy Poovey and husband, Karry, of Maiden; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. David Talbert at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Maiden City Cemetery in Maiden with American Legion Post 240 of Maiden providing military graveside honors. The family will receive friends at Goodin Drum Funeral Home from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, and at other times will be at the home of Jimmy and Denise Campbell, 3065 Pond Road, Maiden.
