Helen Elizabeth SETZER and Clyde Eugene MILLER were married on 23 February 1946 in Catawba County, North Carolina.²⁸⁷⁰ Clyde Eugene MILLER^952,2477, son of Lester Eugene MILLER and Fannie BROWN, was born on 12 November 1921 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 12 August 2008 at the age of 86 in Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. His obituary appeared as follows: NEWTON - Clyde Eugene Miller, 86, of Newton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Mr. Miller was born Nov. 12, 1921, in Catawba County to the late Lester E. Miller and Fannie Brown Miller. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Elizabeth Setzer Miller; daughter, Trudie Ann Miller; sister, Mary M. Sigmon; and brothers, Everette Miller, Kenneth Miller and Robert Miller. Survivors include a daughter, Janice M. Young and husband, Clifford, of Newton; grandchildren, Tim Young and wife, Jeanette, of Collettsville and Angela Murphy and husband, T.J., of Catawba; great-grandchildren, Morgan Murphy, Christopher Young, Leland Young and Jullian Young; stepgreat-grandchild, Nathan Townsend; and sisters, Rachel M. Ervin of Catawba and Joanne Scott of Florida. A service of remembrance will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Catawba, with the Rev. Greg Alms officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Memorial Cemetery, with graveside military rites provided by American Legion Post 16. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, at the church. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 187, Catawba, N.C. 28609.
