4650. Gladys B. SETZER⁹⁵² was born on 6 August 1920 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 26 March 2008 at the age of 87 in Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. She was buried in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, Catawba County, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: HICKORY - Gladys Setzer Watts, 87, of Hickory, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born Aug. 6, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Lillie and Fitchue Setzer. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Newton and was formerly employed with Southern Furniture of Conover for many years and Klingspor Abrasives of Hickory. For the last six years she made her home at Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Hickory. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Watts; two brothers, Johnny Setzer and Cleveland Setzer; a sister, Edith Workman; and a stepson, John Watts. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Frances Setzer and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Cameron Setzer of Catawba and Carmen Setzer-Davidson and husband, Jamie, of Catawba; two great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, Dakota Sean Davidson and Ciara Brianne Davidson of Catawba; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vertie Beal and husband, Pete, of Maiden, Lorene Roseman of Hickory and Mildred Cooke and husband, Bill, of Newton; stepson, Bill Watts and wife, Shirley, of Conover; stepdaughters, Dorothy Glenn and husband, Bobby, of Newton, and Nancy Travis and husband, Ray, of Newton; a number of stepgrandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. The Revs. Ronald J. Lytle and Fred Thompson will officiate and burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, 1648 Shiloh Road, Claremont, N.C. 28610.
