Ruth Mae HOKE, daughter of Albert Govan HOKE and Addie Mae DEAL, was born on 1 May 1921 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 28 August 2011 at the age of 90 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. She was buried in St. Peter's Lutheran Church cemetery, north of Conover, Catawba County, NC. Her obituary appeared as follows: Ruth Hoke Corn, 90, of Hickory passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born May 1, 1921 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late A.G. and Addie Mae Deal Hoke. Mrs. Corn was the former owner of Prince of Pizza in Viewmont and retired from Frank’s Hosiery in Hickory. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Conover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Clara McMahan; and brothers, Charlie Hoke, Robert Hoke, Worth Hoke, Guy Hoke, and Hugh Hoke. Survivors include her son, Bob L. Bolick of Hickory; daughters, Margaret Lee Bolton and husband Donnie of Hickory and Betty Lou Hedrick and husband Jimmy of Hickory; grandchildren, Rick Hedrick and wife Robinette, Steve Bolton, Jeff Bolton and wife Carol, Donna Hodges and husband Jeff, Jason Snipes and Rebecca Snipes; great grandchildren. Amy Lynn Haddock and husband Aaron, Russell Hedrick and wife Tara, Leah Hunsucker, Brittany Bolton, Maygan Bolton, Jaimie Bolton, Stacey Bolton, Daniel Bolton, Landon Bolton, Makayla Hodges, Mackenzie Hodges, and Logan Snipes; and great great grandchildren, Tristan Haddock, Bradley Haddock, Cooper Payne, and Laney Payne A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at St. Peters Lutheran Church. Rev Paul Birner and Rev. Matthew Schilling will officiate. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
