1703. Lloyd Clyde HUNSUCKER was born on 31 July 1919 in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died on 1 June 2003 at the age of 83 in Hospice House of Catawba Valley, Hickory, North Carolina. CONOVER — Lloyd Clyde Hunsucker, 83, of N.C. 16 North, died June 1, 2003, at Hospice House of Hickory. Born July 31, 1919 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late L. C. and Ava Simmons Hunsucker. He had retired as a supervisor with Ridgeview Hosiery and was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the 182nd Division, Field Artillery, during World War II. Pastor John Greig will officiate and burial will follow in Conover Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Church. Pallbearers will be: Charles Bolick, Smitty Bolick, Don Brown, Bob Gaither, Dr. Tom Goodin II, and Stine Isenhower. Lloyd Clyde HUNSUCKER and Ruby Marie LOVE were married about 1945. Ruby Marie LOVE, daughter of Henry Clay LOVE and Carrie HERMAN, was born on 22 November 1919 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She died on 9 October 2007 at the age of 87 in Pallative Care & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Newton, North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows: CONOVER - Ruby Marie Hunsucker, 87, of Conover, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice. She was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Catawba County, daughter of the late Henry Clay Love and Carrie Herman Love. Mrs. Hunsucker was a caring person who loved her family and friends. Her many hobbies included reading, gardening and needlepoint. She fulfilled her passion for music as a piano teacher for many years, instilling this love to young people throughout the community. Mrs. Hunsucker was a 1940 graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College. She was an elementary school teacher in Statesville, taught special education and served as an interim teacher for Newton-Conover Public Schools. She was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church, where she was known for her "greeting card ministry." At Concordia Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Dorcas Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Clyde Hunsucker, and her beloved sister, Lucille Love of Newton. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Clydie Beal and husband, Don, of Conover, Jane Sinclair and husband, Joe, of Albemarle and Rita Maye and husband, Jerry, of Conover; grandchildren, Kurt Beal of Conover, Beth Sinclair of Raleigh, Stacy Herring of Durham and Mark Maye of Huntersville; and great-grandchildren, Luke Maye, Cole Maye, Beau Maye and Drake Maye. A service of remembrance will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at Concordia Lutheran Church. The Rev. Michael Kane will officiate. Interment will follow in Conover City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m., prior to the service, in the Emmaus Room of Concordia Lutheran Church.
