E. SIMMONS. He appeared in the census in 1910 in Listed as CURBY E. SIMMONS, age 19, grandson of Simon and Mary Ekard.¹⁹⁵⁰ In 1910 Kirby was a farm laborer on his grandfather's farm.¹⁹⁵⁰ He died on 14 February 1928 at the age of 37 in Catawba County, North Carolina.⁶⁰² He was buried in New Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hickory, Catawba County, NC.¹⁹⁴⁹
