Born Feb. 24, 1918, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Lela Huffman Honeycutt. She was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church Mo. Synod. She is survived by two sons, Michael Throneburg of Hickory and David Throneburg of Taylorsville; three grandchildren, Haley Throneburg of Hickory, Bobby Throneburg of Newton and Toni Burke of Pennsylvania; four great-grandchildren, Lucas Throneburg and Layla Throneburg, both of Newton, and Christian Burke and Hope Burke, both of Pennsylvania; and two sisters, Mary Kanupp and Martha Killian, both of Hickory. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Throneburg; four brothers; and three sisters. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. Stephens Lutheran Church-Mo Synod, with the Revs. David Guelzow and David W. Ziehr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Mo. Synod. Memorials may be made to St. Stephens Lutheran Church Mo. Pisgah Lutheran Church Cemetery, Alexander Co., North Carolina. Her obituary appeared as follows:2388 HICKORY - Olive Honeycutt Sipe, 84, of Hubbard Road, Bethlehem, went to be with Christ in heaven on Feb. 12, 2006, at her residence following a brief illness. Born Jan. 30, 1922, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late Oliver Honeycutt. A lifetime member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, she retired from Catawba Creations. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Summie Sipe, who died in December 1984; four brothers, John, Jim, Bernard and M.D.; and two sisters, Margaret and Doris. She was the beloved mother and grandmother of a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Kimberly Sipe of Conover; two grandsons, Kendall M. Sipe and Zachary T. Sipe of Conover; and three sisters, Floy Thornburg and Mary Kanupp of Hickory and Martha Killian of Claremont. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. David Guelzow and David Ziehr at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephens Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery. The family will be at Hickory Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 tonight.
